An Admission Concerning My Sheepuality

I would like to announce that I have secretly been keeping a sheep - called Cloudy - in my flat for the last six months.
I have not declared this sheep as my partner for the purposes of government administration.
I will now do so forthwith.
I did not disclose this as I wanted to keep my sheepuality disclosed from the public at this time.

I can neither confirm nor deny persistent press rumours that Cloudy is a member of the Sheep Liberation Army.
Thankyou.

"Four Lions"

Saw "Four Lions".

Very good film. And very funny.

Nice dose of justified absurdism. Quite moving in an odd way too.

-------------------------------------------------------------

This film and many other things at the moment are making me tend towards outright PACIFISM and commiting fully to NON-VIOLENCE.

Practising Yoga of a kind is also making me believe in NON-VIOLENCE.

Similar to the some things making me want to become 100 percent veggie too.

--------------

A concept to think of is full belief in NON-VIOLENCE at least as an option......

What I am reading

http://www.iconbooks.co.uk/book.cfm?isbn=978-184831055-1

I am reading this and it's good and helping me in my attempts to understand "economics".

But I have a feeling it's just "the tip of the bullshitberg". :)

Someone else I remember had the name George.

J.F.K. and the 1963 coup d'e'tat.

"There is overwhelming evidence that LHO fired the shots and none whatsoever for another theory."

The preceding has just been tweeted to me by David Aaronovitch.

I want to thank this wonderful man for this fantastic tweet.
It has answered all my prayers.

It is obvious from the evidence that the exact opposite of what is said in this tweet is the case.

ID EST: There is no evidence whatsoever that Oswald fired anything at all and overwhelming evidence for something else. I want to be clear about that because it is as plain as a pikestaff.

Hence we are into interesting territory. Thanks again, David.

-----

He says that Jim Garrison had a "massive ego." Well thanks for telling me that too, David. I'll bear that in mind. The book you tell me about by Vincent Bugliosi is at the top of my reading list.

But can I ask if Vincent Bugliosi has a "massive ego" (whatever that means) as well?; and whether that is relevant to his work?

--------

I am looking forward to receiving an email from him explaining in great detail the "overwhelming evidence" that Oswald committed the crime.

Writing such an email would be a hard task indeed.

There is :-

NO EVIDENCE that Oswald was in the Depository
NO EVIDENCE that Oswald fired a gun, let alone a specific gun
NO EVIDENCE that anyone SAW Oswald commit the crime
NO EVIDENCE that any "ammunition shells" "found" at the so-called "sniper's nest" had anything to do with Oswald....
NO EVIDENCE that any ammunition fired at Kennedy had anything to do with a specific gun, let alone a gun associated in any way with Oswald......
...........

"LHO" would have been aquitted in any court of law worthy of the name.

WHEREAS.....

There is overwhelming and abundant evidence that something else happened.
I do not contend that I know exactly what that was.
But it is almost certain that the assassin or assassins fired from the notorious "grassy knoll".
And it is absolutely certain that Lee Harvey Oswald did not murder JFK.
Hence as it stands conventional history records an outright lie.

-------------------------------------------

I want to say that this general perspective of questioning lazy thinking and questioning the current vogue for "conpiracy theories" a` la David Icke is vital and related to vital questions about our political culture.
Analysing "conspiracy theories" is important.
Also of course "conspiracy theories" of a kind have a long history.

I just obviously think at the minimum that Aaronovitch and others are wrong about the assassination of Kennedy, for example.

The theory that someone other than Oswald murdered Kennedy does not qualify for the term "conspiracy theory" - it qualifies for the designation "case proven beyond reasonable doubt."

---------------------------------------

On the 50th Anniversary to the day of the coup, I would like to say that I believe it was principally Kennedy's opposition to the Vietnam War that meant that he was not wanted.

I strongly suspect that the C.I.A. assassinated Kennedy.

He had a different vision of the kind of country the USA should be.

One man university

I am thinking of starting a one man university!

I am going to be the only student, I will be the professorial head of every faculty and the lecturer in all faculties.
Also I will be the only member of catering staff.
I will be the only patron and owner of the student bar (possibly with some help from Tescos, admittedly).
The student night life might be interesting too.

The best thing is that I will charge myself a fortune in fees and make a lot of money.

North is Another Country?

March 2007.

I was listening to the radio and they were talking about the north of England.
The north of England is, in my experience, almost a different country to the south of England.
Both halfs have many regional cultures within them but there is a fundamental cultural north/south divide. And it is cultural and not just socio-economic. I think that the north is maybe more Scandinavian, more no nonsense, more friendly and more open than the south.

After all the Danelaw covered pretty much the same area as what people think of as the North.
The place names are often more Danish too.

My first ever letter to a newspaper - 1992.

My first ever letter to a newspaper. 1992.

Dear Sir,

I understand that Enoch Powell believes that "a politician complaining about the press is like a sailor complaining about the sea."

I am sure that sailors sometimes complain about the sea since it can seem to them a vast, blue, inhuman expanse. Thus it is quite possible that politicians could complain about our press since it too is a vast, blue (in politics and in taste) inhuman expanse.
I hope I understand his simile correctly.

As an esteemed classicist Mr.Powell knows what is really meant by GRAVITAS and HUMANITAS.

"The Sun" for example upholds neither of these ancient standards and is a "news" paper of uniquely low quality in the old PAX ROMANA.

Yours sincerely,

CIVIS,

"Roman Ford", Essex.

Let's do it

Let's do it.

Let's have a quiet revolution and vote out all Tories wherever you can.

They are the only party to support our current electoral "system". Is there any wonder?

Let's unite and get rid of them.
